Background of Global Expansion

Lock & Lock is a globally beloved household goods brand, expanding its business to various countries. Particularly in China and Vietnam, the company provides localized products and services, gaining significant popularity. Consequently, Lock & Lock aims to enhance the efficiency of each subsidiary's operations and establish an integrated data management system through the global expansion of its product information system. This project is part of IT7's portfolio, focusing on separating and classifying data based on the ERP system to provide appropriate data for each subsidiary. It also aims to improve the convenience and efficiency of local employees and expatriates by applying local language sets.

Portfolio Introduction

Global Expansion of the Established Product Information System

Lock & Lock has undertaken the task of expanding the already established product information system to its subsidiaries in China and Vietnam. This involved separating and classifying data based on the ERP system to provide suitable data for each subsidiary and applying the local language sets to ensure efficient work processes for local employees and expatriates. Additionally, the project aims to provide a comprehensive view of the status of global subsidiaries, laying the foundation for a unified view of master and supplementary data for enterprise-wide resource management.

Scope of Work

The scope of this project includes the following steps:

  1. Requirement Collection: Gather requirements from each subsidiary.
  2. Storyboard Creation: Plan the overall system flow based on the collected requirements.
  3. Design: Design the system considering the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).
  4. Publishing: Publish the designed system in accordance with web standards.
  5. Front/Back-end Development: Develop the front-end and back-end of the system.
  6. Unit and Third-Party Testing: Conduct unit testing and obtain third-party verification.
  7. User Testing: Conduct tests with actual users and incorporate their feedback.
  8. Release: Release the final system and monitor its stability.

  • Global Scope Expansion of SAP Interface Data: Expanded the scope of SAP interface data globally, classified common and subsidiary-specific attributes, and refined the data.
  • Implementation of New Authorization System: Incorporated a new authorization system for local employees and expatriates into the system enhancement.
  • Batch Job Work for Data Interfaces of Overseas Subsidiaries: Executed batch job work for data interfaces of overseas subsidiaries, including Vietnam and China.

Technologies Used

  1. Server Configuration: Built a stable server environment using Windows Server and IIS.
  2. Back-end: Implemented the back-end logic using PHP.
  3. Database: Managed data efficiently using MariaDB.
  4. Front-end: Developed a user-friendly interface using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.

Project Results

Through this project, Lock & Lock's subsidiaries in China and Vietnam have significantly enhanced their operational efficiency by adopting a localized product information system. The accuracy and consistency of data were ensured, and systems were built to reflect the specific requirements of each subsidiary, thereby strengthening competitiveness in the global market. Furthermore, the foundation for integrated resource management and data consolidation was established, facilitating future global expansion.
