Portfolio Overview:
FutureRobot Inc. collaborated with LG S&I Inc. to develop a Content Management System (CMS) for managing and uploading screen content for security robots. This project, which spanned from May 2019 to April 2020, resulted in a system that provides users with convenient and efficient content management and distribution capabilities.
Project Overview:
Security Robot Screen Content Management:
- Implemented a CMS that allows easy management and creation of content for a robot's screen with a resolution of 1920*1080.
- Administrators can freely compose images, text, slides, and more on the web interface, with the content being converted to HTML format in real-time.
Content Editor Implementation:
- Developed an intuitive and user-friendly editor on the administrator's web interface, enabling the easy creation of various types of content.
- The created content is compressed into a file, transmitted to the server, and then wirelessly distributed to the robots from the server.
On-premises Server Environment Setup:
- Established a stable on-premises server environment for system operation, ensuring safe data management and rapid distribution.
Scope of Work:
- Requirement Gathering: Analyzed customer requirements in detail to set the project's direction.
- Storyboard Creation: Visually represented the project's overall flow to clarify the tasks at each stage.
- Design: Conducted design work considering user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).
- Publishing: Performed frontend tasks using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to construct web pages.
- Frontend/Backend Development: Linked frontend and backend to implement functions.
- Unit Testing and Third-party Testing: Verified the normal operation of each function and enhanced system completeness through external validation.
- User Testing: Tested in the actual user environment to verify usability.
- Release: Deployed the final system and provided user guidance.
Key Features:
- Web Content Composition: Provided an HTML editor that allows easy composition of web content, including images, videos, and text.
- Real-time Preview: Offered a feature to view the composed files in real-time.
- Content Distribution: Enabled the compressed web files to be uploaded to the server and wirelessly transmitted to the robots for real-time distribution.
- Archive Management: Allowed downloading of archived compressed files from the server for re-editing and management.
- Large File Management: Optimized for smooth uploading and downloading of large content files.
- Device Compatibility: Developed for accessibility on PCs and tablets.
Technologies Used:
- Server Configuration: Windows
- Backend: PHP
- Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
- Database: MariaDB
This project was successfully completed through the collaboration between FutureRobot Inc. and LG S&I Inc. The robot CMS system provides users with an intuitive interface and powerful features, significantly enhancing the efficiency of content management and distribution. It stands as a model case applicable to various future robot and digital signage projects.
